I don't think he intended to blame all the beta testers. However, it's obvious from the post that some testers discovered the extremely useful feature and neglected to even mention it, but instead continued to use it and spend money on it. This issue would have been completely overted if it was brought to their attention in beta. If I was Nick I would feel a little betrayed by the community especially since a lot of us blame this entire fiasco on him.
Just my two cents...

I want my real life cash back (not a tib refund) and you can have your app back. The game devs and the use of players as beta testers has shown you can't make a decent game. TOS are not to be used to be bent into place to protect you. Updates are ment to be for game improvements and adjusting towards new iOS, not to backtrack on your failings.

Then you will get everything back accept for the few that spent cash which I don't think was very smart in the first place. If I discovered such a useful feature that wasn't mentioned anywhere in the help guide or in the forums I would begin to question before I spent cash on it. Although as humans we have a tendency to not question things that benefit us lol.Fair comment but what about the players that found it and thought it was a feature of the game..
And JB you cannot blame the devs for using beta testers, it's a very common practice for MMO's. As for the TOS, the whole purpose of any TOS is to primarily protect the company. No need to bend it.

Wonder how many bases ill be left with...... Absolute bs.

reply to Idonoghue
I'm not blaming them for using beta testers I blame them for cutting corners and not giving the beta testers enough tib and thus full access to the game. This is just another show of corner cutting and greed form MeanFreePath LLC.
-
It's seems to me they have benefited financial off players in regards to this error.. And as it was the dev teams fault why should they players not be refunded ?? Surely u have given your testers enough tib to test it correctly , or as JB has said corners cut ..
-
GREED has taken over here, rational decisions are clearly not in the scope of the minds of these developers.
Clearly thinking about the short term and not the long term, it looks like their minds are made up. Rip us off now cos they no that this game is poorly designed, going nowhere and therefore the spending players will soon stop!

The same company made the same errors in Turf Wars with the police maps update. I urge people to leave their reviews on the iTunes Store ( good or bad ). I for myself want a cash refund or will see what apple make of my complaints.

The lack of common sense with you lot is astonishing. Anyone with a turf wars background who claims to have thought this to be a feature of the game, is a liar. Anyone who then went on to spend real cash to further take advantage of it, is a moron. Think yourselves lucky you'll be allowed to keep the tib gained from building in all these new territories, and that you get to keep your accounts. If it were up to those of us who play the game legitimately you'd all have been banned.
-
Why did it take so long time from the bug beeing discoverd until the game was patched?
-
I'd like to think of it as more of a glitch than an exploit. If you could build 16 upgrades per base then why not? The only ones complaining about the 'feature' are those that didn't use it

Yup. I wouldn't have banned players but I think you're lucky Nick didnt ban you or even reset.
These whiny posts by players who think they're entitled to dog a game because they spent real life money exploiting a bug - get a life!

When will this take away happen?

The notion that beta testers should have somehow been more responsible for 'policing' the game after is hogwash. Our agreement ended with the beta testing and we became paying customers. The implication that terms like loyalty or real world morals and values come in to play here is laughable. I was on nobody's payroll, I just did what I thought would work out best for me and my competitive advantage. An advantage which, by the way, I saw slipping away as i watched more and more players move across the country with the devs apparently sitting on their hands. It's all well and good for you to say what you, with your impeachable morals, might have done in this situation, but the fact is you weren't in this situation. I'd like hear from the players, if they exist, that knew full well that this was going on, and that the devs weren't addressing it in a timely manner, and still said 'this is morally wrong' and reported it. Otherwise it just comes across as sour grapes and Monday morning quarterbacking.

Same deal with the water turf. One player was allowed to keep turf he built on the mainland by hopping across the pacific from Hawaii. Although Nixon lost his retirement home on the Farallon Islands due to it being 'unbuildable' territory. Poor bastard.JB wrote:

Right. Which is why we should all lose the turf that we built or aquired as a result. Not just some. We are either going to be honest or we are not. I prefer to be honest and play the game as intended. I'll lobby for changes because I think they ar needed but I don't want to gain an unfair advantage. Where's the fun in that? As for the tib that was spent, it should be refunded so we can go and use it in proper ways. -

Jim there is nothing dishonest with using a game feature that was there for everyone, and seemed apparently allowable because the app said "16 slots" that's obviously to me an allowable feature because the program would have been written to allow that. Maybe it was a future unreleased feature but how would anyone know that.
And the beta testers have spoken themselves, there was no adequate testing time, no situations that allowed for that feature to be tested, and not enough playable map to even matter. So to call them out on the forum is just very small minded, bad publicity, and even non-Christian like.If the dev doesn't want the feature for everyone then he has the right to shut it down, but not to take people's real time and money.

Idon that's not true. A beta told me this morning the glitch that was found in beta and it wasn't this one. Something like when you took a base off it created a new spot. And that glitch was reported and fixed. As a beta myself I didn't even know about that until today. Probably because I got bored and stopped playing after a week or so in beta. So to make it emotional and make assumptions is pretty ridiculous on Nicks part. Beta ended when the game was released and as far as I know this glitch was found out by players about a week ago; therefore, has nothing to do with wether certain players were beta or not. "Evidence" is never based on assumptions in the real world.

I dunno the timeline here but that bug seemed handled in a timely way and it was clearly not working as intended.
