  I remember a few years ago a player from the Redskins doing the same thing. JPP chose to let a doctor in Florida amputate the finger instead of coming back to NY to let the best surgeons in the world fix it.

  fixing it would have taken too long to heal... cutting it off allows him to play in the fall.... now thats f-ed up!
