I've jail broken my iPod touch before through the comp, but I wanna know if there's a way to jailbreak straight through the iPod. Anybody know?

Not on your current iOS version. On older A3 models, you could go to jailbreakme.com and there you go. It was rather unreliable, though. It usually bricked your device.

    Oh. Thanks

Jail breaking using your computer is very easy pm me if you need any help for I did this recently unfortunately I was running 6.1.3 so I had to do a tethered jb which I absolutely hate. Restored device but will jb when ios 7 comes out due to jb untethered 6.1.3 will be released yes I could use snow breeze to downgrade my ios but its too much work in my opinion.

Apple sees being able to JB from the device itself as very dangerous, so they patch that VERY fast. They don't see it from the comp as being quite as dangerous, so they don't put as many recourses into patching it quickly.

So, no, but its not that hard from the computer.

It's dangerous to do it that way I heard.

It is dangerous. Basically, if you do it from the device itself, which opens up all the device to the jailbreak program, and it can do whatever it wants with your device. Whereas on a PC, the program can stop it from doing that.

Yeah, I've had a few people tell me that now.

Yeah, I've had a few people tell me that now.

I know, I was just giving a reason WHY it's dangerous.

Thanks , apreciate it, lol. Guess that's worse than downloading onto the computer first, I was always worried about viruses getting onto my comp. Now I know it's the safer of the two paths though.

First time with reds now, or ultras now I had no prob. With evasion I had a prob with my email and safari not opening on my it ouch, and my computer was also messed up. I'm careful now

Iv been jail broken for about 4 months now. There are some good tweaks but the novelty is wearing off. There must be more to it than I know about.

Well there's the appcake, and whatever the other one is, that you can install some apps for free. Then there is the customized screens, that's always fun. Roms, but then again you can do that without ....then there's the game mods. I like the free in app purchases ... It does get kinda boring though after a while. Thought it would be better than it was.

Appcake, Installous, and the others are basically not working. Installous IS shut down.
Download MewSeek for free music from the Insanelyi Repository or XSellize.

Redsn0w contains no viruses. It's fine. Nor does TinyUmbrella, iH8Sn0w, or UltraSn0w. Evasi0n is a great break. The reason your Safari and Email crashed is because you didn't reboot, not boot, your device after the break. You have to hard reboot it. Like installing something massive in Cydia and it says reboot device.

I ended up with a fractured (A rainbow crack) in my lock screen and boot logo because of a on-device jailbreak. I restored it two days later and went with a custom ISPW from iH8Sn0w.

They don't like burning their exploits. So 6.1.3 is tethered. On 7.0, it will be untethered for all devices, including A5 models.
6.1.2 is Untethered. But you'd need to use your SSH blobs to restore to a previous iOS, as iTunes won't authenticate it. TinyUmbrella can be used to extract SSH Blobs (Well, save them..) and iH8Sn0w to use them.
